Great idea using the Knuckles expansion for a case! (which rocks by the way!)
How tricky was desoldering the game chip? Did you use the Street Fighter 2 radica or the one with Sonic?
Wow, you have some great stuff in there! I love the DC stand especially.

Thanks!
I think the Sonic and Knuckles case is nice and sturdy and should withstand some abuse.
Desoldering the rom chip from the Radica was the most difficult part of the project. What I did was take a desoldering braid (radio shack catalog number 64-2090) and a 15 watt soldering iron and keep going pin to pin till I did not get any more solder on the braid. Then put a bit of flux on the braid and went over it 2 more times. Next I used an extra thin x-acto knife blade and gently inserted it between the rom board and main board as far as I could without excessive force. Next I warmed all the pins on one side (pins 23-44), at the same time I put added force on the knife blade. Once the one side was disconnected from the main board I heated the opposite side (pins 1-22) and the chip came off. At first it looked 100% successful, but as I was cleaning the contacts, 2 of the pads came off. I think I used too much heat. Anyway, I do recommend tracing any pads that get damaged and attaching those wires first, then the remaining wires will hold the damaged ones in place.
I used the first version with sonic one and altered beast...etc
The collection pictures are of my Wife’s collection. She just acquired (I bought for her) some more that I will be uploading soon. In particular a Hello Kitty Xbox and an Anniversary Edition white Xbox.
I am quite proud of the DC kiosk.

The top of the Sonic and Knuckles cart has a cart slot (you know for Sonic 2 or 3) you can desolder that and use that for the Radica. You'll be left with only the ablility of Sonic and Knuckles, but hey the game is still playable.Neo_Weapon wrote:Whoa how you connect to the radica using the sonic and knuckles cart?
