I used to be really into fansubs, about a year or two ago before they had american liceses I had watched the intire Triugun and Final Fantasy Unlimited as well as .hack, FLCL and Evengalion(sp? lol been so long).

I fly to British Columbia from Nova Scotia every summer for 3 weeks and they have a very large asian community in Richmond. They have a Anime store that sells everything from manga, to wall scrolls and model kits.

Bah, waste of time. I watched most of it over winter break and it sucked.

I watched a little bit of Speed Grapher before it got liscenced and it looked pretty good

And I've seen the first volume of Scrapped Princess-that looks pretty cool.

Can I assume, then, by your avatar that you're also a fan of AzuDai?

all of .hack//sign and some of .hack//liminality.

And I found FFU great. there were definatly some slow parts, but then again it had its great moments.

I like Anime for all of the futurism, EXCLUDING most (but not all) of the Gundam type series. I've actually seen very few series, except maybe the first of the Robotech seasons a long time ago.

The Japanese movies truly shine- or at least the ones set in the future or an altered past (Ala SteamBoy).

It's to bad I spend all of my money on computer parts, else I'd buy more

Anyone looking for a good anime series get naruto. I think that this is the best series ever made. they come out with new episodes every thursday. you can get episodes 1-25 at torrent spy. It starts out kind of slow but picks up at about eps. 10 (don't skip 1-9...or you won't know whats happening) Naruto is coming to america soon...but guess what, their putting it on Toonami

. Their going to cut EVERYTHING out.

Anime is okay, I'm not really into it but I think some of it is pretty cool. I like to catch a few minutes of some show on cartoon network every now and then.

Paranoia Agent, Ruro-Ken, and Case Closed are all great TV shows, but all of the mangas' are way better.

I own the first 4 Rurouni Kenshin (assuming that's what you meant by Ruro-Ken) on DVD, I quite like Case Closed, but I didn't like Paranoia Agent. I also know one of the guys who translates for the American Case Closed episodes.

You know I was looking at buying the whole series and they sell it in two box sets on ebay. They go for about $40. Just type in "Rurouni Kenshin part".

As for me, I feel out of my big fansub phase about episode 30 something with Gundam Seed. Though I have been getting on isohunt.com and downloaded Onegai Teacher (need to buy), and just for the hell of it downloaded Candidets for Goddess.

I will say this though guys *incoming big tip* if you want good buys for anime DVDs there is a store on ebay that I've bought from that really only charge you by the # of DVDs. Like I bought Vandread (with english dub) for about $24, thats what I paid for the first DVD of season one! They also sent me a link to their website where their prices are a little more cheaper. If you ask I'll post/send it to you.

I really only fansub stuff that hasnt come out here yet

And Paranoia Agent is pretty cool IMO...pretty psychologically twisted and deep...Satoshi Kon really hits that on the nail.

One series that actually looks pretty neat is Ichigo Mashimaro. i realy liked Azumanga Daoih and tis looked similar-the preview for it was also pretty funny (the one where they're in space)

Anyone heard anything about this one?

It was on toonami dude.

YuYu was on adult swim for a month (2001), but I don't think kenshin was.
