Game Boy Micro: The same old tricks...
Moderator: Moderators
I think I'm finally starting to understand Nintendo's strategy... this device is perfect for portable gaming, it's so small you can literally take it out of your pocket and play, fairly inconspicuously. The SP is small but I think the problem is that you see lots of little kids running around w/ SPs so they are stereotyped to be for kids. I have a NES edition SP but I have really never played it in public because it is slightly bulgy in the pocket and attention-grabbing (I don't want everyone on the El train to know I'm playing a gameboy). This seems perfect though for its application.
That said, I probably won't get one because I have already gone through a GBA and am perfectly happy with my SP.

Uh no, the GBE will come. This is not it. And how can you not like it? It looks awesome.Lucretius wrote:Nope. This is it...*sigh*...The DS looked like the Double Screen Game and watches and this flat out looks like a normal game and watch...sad...goodie wrote:No this is just a remade GBA. The GBE will most likely come next year.

...I always thought several incarnations of the same thing is pretty pointless, at least 3 within 5 years.
I can understand the Grey Game boy in 89, to the GBP in 95 or so, then the GBC in 98. That's 3 in 9 years, and each had a substantial improvement, but this is just sad...my GBA is just as good as this new Micro(sans backlighting), and it is 5 years old.

Warranty-Voiding fun!

Maybe they'll pull a fast one on us, and say at like 11:59PM before the release date, "Oh yeah, its the GBE!"

How sturdy is this new game boy? Can I chuck it at a wall and it will survive?

That reminds me of the old egg-dropping test, if you are talking about case durability. (build something out of a styrofoam cup, bubble wrap, and a Twinkee that will let an egg survive a 2 story drop. You know, that kind of thing.)
As for chucking it at a wall, it would probably get dented, if it's really aluminum (which is harder than sheetrock.)
I remember one of my friends in ewlementary school had a NES. He got frustrated and threw the controller at the wall. (the old rectangular carpal-tunnel killers.) It LEFT A DENT in the wall, and was not even scratched!
