How do i improve my connection to xbox live? I have high speed cable internet. I use a wireless connection with a top of the line linksys router. I have the xbox 360 adapter on my xbox to receive the signal, but my connection to xbox live is extremely laggy. I have 2 computers in my house one is connected directly to the router, and the other is connected wirelessly. Both computers run internet perfectly. What can I change to fix my connection to my xbox?

Probably should have created a new thread rather than hijacking a dead one...

Easy answer to this is to remove the wireless part from the equation. I considered XBOX live via wireless but found that it would get laggy. There are a few solutions that make it not so laggy. 1. make it a wired connection. 2. Close out any torrents or downloads you are doing. 3. reboot your computer.

I find that I have to do 3 sometimes in order to end the lag. Guess the router can sometimes give strange priority.. Oh and if your router has it, make sure that xbox live mode is turned on.

Another suggestion that I thought of was to go into your router settings and create a rule / set a high priority for the following ports:

UDP ports 88 and 3074
TCP port 3074

These are used for Xbox Live, this might improve your issue.

Im planning on doing something cool with my xbox 360. Im going to make it MAGICALLY play games from now where, but since in have a ps3 im not going to play online and im too lazy to pay for xbox online. So Im changing my xbox 360 to magically play games so i can see if i like the games, and if i do, i will get them Unimaginably for my ps3
