So I ended up snagging Resistance 2 at Circuit City (only 10% off games now for some reason) and I found Uncharted:Drake's Fortune for a reasonable price used.
So those should keep me busy for awhile. Neither place had Little Big Planet, but that's okay. I have enough to keep me busy for quite awhile now. LOL

Uncharted is very cool so far. I haven't made it that far yet (just made it to the U-boat), but I am liking it quite a bit. Definitely Tomb Raider-esque, but there's nothing wrong with that.Twilight Wolf wrote:"Uncharted" is awesome. You'll enjoy it.
According to my PSN friends list, you're playing it right now.
Something tells me I'm going to get betrayed by Sully, but I guess I'll have to wait and see on that.

"Tomb Raider" is one of my very favorite games, and the whole "Tomb Raider"-esque-ness of "Uncharted" was one of the things I really liked about it and made me decide to buy it.
One of my friends dislikes it because it "ripped off 'Gears of War's' combat system," or something like that. Who cares? It's still an awesome game. Of course, he's an unashamed 360 fanboy, so he's probably just looking for an excuse to put the PS3 down.

Resistance 2 was absolutely epic. It really surpassed the first game in almost every way. But unfortunately, that little bit that wasn't as good was somewhat of a deal breaker. The removal of the weapon wheel, the single coolest weapon change system on a console shooter, and allowing you to only carry two guns at a time, kind of killed the experience. They also broke the co-op mode, which happened to have been the single best co-op of any shooter period, by not letting you play through the actual campaign. Don't get me wrong, it was still a great game, almost every corner you turn you are hit with a wow moment. every boss is bigger and more epic than before, and it truly captures a cinematic feel like few other games. But these problems I mentioned really make it hard for veterans of the series to love it like the first one.
BTW Fallout 3 kicks the crap out of Oblivion in every way. Just bite the bullet and buy it, you will not regret it.

You know, I was seriously considering getting "Fallout 3," so that information is very helpful to me, as well. Thanks!XPCportables wrote:BTW Fallout 3 kicks the crap out of Oblivion in every way. Just bite the bullet and buy it, you will not regret it.

Ben keeps trying to tell me how great Fallout 3 is, but I just don't really care. I played through the Vault section in it and wasn't overly impressed. I mean, it is obviously a well made game, but it did nothing to get me hooked. Oblivion (or to use a more recent example: Fable 2) hooked me right away and didn't let go.
I did beat Uncharted yesterday and have to say I was very impressed by it. Definitely one of the more truly "next gen" games I've played. They just got so many little details right in that game that it all added up to being a great overall experience.
Valkyria Chronicles does sound interesting, but I've got Fable 2 to take care of my RPG needs at the moment. Brilliant game. Not much more need be said about it.
Still haven't popped open Resistance 2, but I will one of these days I'm sure.

Exactly why I'm saying I must be terrible at it.
I haven't played it in a while, to be honest; I got pissed off when I learned I had screwed myself out of getting trophies because I didn't download the updated before I started the game.
