Great job. I like the job you did on the main board. The case isn't the prettiest, but its still damn nice looking.

Yeah, it looks great. If I was building mine that way, I would have included the exp. pak somehow. I wouldn't be able to live without it. LOVE how small it is!

How much do you charge for one of these beasts? (and how much would you charge to make the bigger one)?

Thats IF you make these for cash.

If you flipped the N64 board around (heatsinks facing to the back of the portable), you could just have the expansion pak stick out the back. The memory card and game stick out the back already, wouldn't add much bulk.

How thick is the system out of interest? If my multi-platform system didn't need the two pieces of 2mm thick perspex to keep the two halves apart (a thin piece of PVC would do the trick normally), it would have been 29mm thick instead of 33mm - how does that compare to yours, out of curiosity?

I like the look of the white one in the middle, looks very nice; two tone effect. (I know your new system is the black one).

The memory card can be easily relocated and there seems space in your case for one; my wires were several inches long, works great. The expansion pack is the issue, explains why I couldn't get my attempt to work as my wires were more than 2cms! In my project I hid the expansion pack (cut down as much as it could be) behind the wires of the relocated cart slot).

Haven't tested battery life yet. I would assume 1.5 hours with 2100mAh if I'm lucky.

I'd make another lite for $1000.

That is a great idea. The reason I didn't use it is because It would have added a little more depth to the case due to the height of the heatsinks. The controller PCB is pressed against the N64. Also if you look at a pic of the back, the exp pak would almost certainly be blocked by the cartridge.

28mm. Obviously the cart slot section is wider though.

Excellent. 28mm / 29mm is the slimmest it can be (handheld area).

Silly price aside, VERY nice job. It's incredibly sleek. Were it not for the external battery, I'd say this would be the best N64p to date. Alas, the L64 remains on its throne...

Very nice job! Those are the best laid-out internals I've ever seen. The case work is clean as well.

I'm stickying this as well now. I think it deserves to live at the top of the page!

Thanks again to all of those who commented. I find them all extremely motivational and the fact that you guys like it make the project feel all that more worth it!!!

Also, would anyone like me to write a how-to for the expansion pak rellocation?

Yes, post the expansion pack relocation.

Interesting, people seem to like the look of black on cases, although the white and black one is larger, I thought it looked more stylish and chic. Personal choice after all.

Congrats on it being stickied!
