Battery's question

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

go to radio shack buy to packages of the rc battery spar connectors then put one on all the connect of the system and screen as were the battery would have been directly connected that way you can plug the battery to the system cause it has the opposite connection but still unplug it to put on the charger but just make sure you leave a way to get the battery out when you make your case

so that way also you dont have to do a ton of wiresing and junk.

i would show a diagram on what i mean cause im awsome at schematics but i still dont get how to put images on this site with out using a link

I've said it before, and I will say it again. You must host images externally and then use the image tag.
