Yep, same with me. The FTP just doesn't want to work with EvoX. When I was softmodding my 'box, I ran into FTP EvoX errors, but vb helped me out with that (used UnleashX instead).vb_master wrote:Whatever I don't really care. I had nothing but problems with the EvoX dashboard's FTP.
However, my Xbox is a version 1.6, so that may something to do with it.

I've been using EvoX for quite some time and have never had a problem with FTP'ing into my Xbox. It is a matter of personal experience, really. So don't automatically say not to use something just because it didn't work for you, because it might be exactly what someone else is looking for.
On how to get into Xbins:
There's guides of how to do it online. Basically you connect to their IRC room and get a login and password to use in an FTP client to download stuff from them. This has all the info you need: http://xbox-scene.com/articles/xbins.php
If you need any help PM me.

Ok my Computer has FUll acess to my Xbox HDD, but I cant Find the Directory for the Drive, I look in the Drives Properties and Even looked in MY Computer and nothing there, How do I find the Directory so I can use Fat Xplorer.
And Xbox-scene.com the Original Xbox section looks basically abandoned because of the Xbox 360.

Ok. How are you accessing your hard drive? Are you FTP'ing into it or are you connecting the drive straight to your computer?
From what you're saying it sounds like you cannot FTP into the drive if the xbox is stock. You can create a boot disc that launches a dashboard that allows you to FTP into the drive and adjust the files on it. Basically you create a dummy dashboard so you can FTP into your xbox. And then from there you can modify the stock xbox files to softmod your xbox. If you're wanting to go that way let me know and I'll help you with it.

you just go ahead and think about it, but at the moment I see what Tromely can do to help.
He is plugging in an LOCKED harddrive, in the FATX format. Just give up on him, he has NO IDEA what he is doing (and not listening to us).Tromoly4130 wrote:Ok. How are you accessing your hard drive? Are you FTP'ing into it or are you connecting the drive straight to your computer?

I right clicked and saved as, and I just get some god forsaken Website Shortcut that leads to nothing but HTML.
And what makes you think I not listening to anybody, I'm just not listening to you because the downloads you sent me to were crap, and then start getting angry because I asked what was I supposed to do with them and you said "I SAID RIGHT CLICK AND SAVE!!!!"
You must still be P***** at me for that Incident a couple weeks ago.

JonGamer, hit me up on AIM (sn is the same as my username). I've been in your spot before, I'll help you out.
BTW, are you looking to replace the HD?
And EvoX is a good dashboard to start out with, but I got tired of its lousy file management system. That and the desire to use it as a MythTV frontend caused me to switch to XBMC.

@ Jongamer:
Within the next hour I'll have an EvoX booting disc made and I'll be testing it. If you're on AIM tonight then contact me [sn bmxfreek47] and I'll be able to explain anything you have questions about.
EDIT: I just created an EvoX disc, it did not work.
@ vb_master:
I feel that a forum is where people exchange knowledge and where people can ask questions and can recieve help. I'm choosing, no, WANTING to help Jongamer with any questions he has. So please, if you aren't going to be patient enough to help, please show some courtesy and do not post anything that critisizes anyone.

Because this Xbox Is not even mine.
Right now I'm letting the Harddrive cool and see if that helps at all.
