When these games are considered classics, the gaming industry might not be around. There is always the chance of another crash...

and that wasnt a bash in EAs direction, every developer/publisher is generally tending to put out bad games, not just EA. Although EA's DRM scheme does my head in.

Todays games are so sucky they arent even worth their inflated price.
Keeping in mind that as mentioned before the idea that piracy is stealing money is false. Think of the time and work invest in getting an Xbox setup to play copied games, and buy DVD-Rs. Most people that play Xbox games are not going to want to do it, and that is if the idea came to them.

Really EA still makes money. Granted they are not making the kind of money they want to or think they are entitled to but too bad. They should see about making a few games that play differently then just releasing the same sports game every year.

However this rant doesn't change the fact. To a degree, a small one, likely a fraction of a percent, of piracy has an effect on business sales. Cause as mentioned 99% of people that pirate are not really planning on buying the software.

Mr. Troy, I have to disagree with you on the point of people wanting something because their told. I personally don't want any program from Adobe, though I will admit I'd like to take a look at Dreamweaver. There is only one Adobe program I would have search for, and that is Illustrator.

The only reason I would want Illustrator is simple, if I'm using Windows, it is the only way I can view an file make in Illustrator. I have no problem under Ubunut/Linux. However if I have to use Windows, I can't view much less change it and so I'm out of luck. So it's not that I would want it, it's that I would need it.

And just to drive a point home about price being a little over inflated, even with the current student discount Adobe is offering (I'm higher ed.) Illustrator still will cost $199. Sorry I don't have that kind of money for programs, I need it for books and tuition.

In less than 5 minutes I pulled up a program I never heard of before(so work with me here I know nothing about what I'm talking about) Inkscape. It's free, and claims it can open AI files. It's not as broad or extensive as Illustrator I'm guessing, but it has the same basic functionality. There's even a guide on learning Inkscape coming from a Illustrator background. And that was just from me googling "vector art program illustrator" and it was on the first page.

I've payed for Photoshop in the past, I wouldn't dream of using anything else.

Oh, and I payed for my copy of Windows Vista (Home Premium), system builder edition meant I got it on the cheap :) (not illegal or a grey area either)

"I will buy it after I make sure its worth my money first."

You know I used to believe this. But i doubt anyone actually goes back and buys the game after they have stolen it.
I do that all of the time.

Wanna see my list of games purchased on STEAM?

Wanna see which games I have torrented?

Wanna see which games I have torrented then realized sucked then deleted afterwards?

Honestly these kinds of topics absolutely piss me off. There is a good reason behind torrenting games, but most people take it wrong.

I torrent games as a replacement of renting a game. If I don't like it, I just get rid of it.

Demo's? I've never found a demo release of many games... or they were only for a certain time period and I missed it.

I think demos these days are really crap. My brother downloaded and installed Nero 7, demo on our mother's computer. After 30 days, you knw have any idea how hard it was to remove that crap? And believe me I love Nero, it's the best burning software I know of for windows. It's just that the demo software is the biggest steaming pile of crap I've ever seen. Second only to Adobe's.

Really I do agree that you should check for demos. However like mentioned demos of games are almost non existent. The closest thing you can get to testing a game before you buy it would be to rent it, check it out for a week then if you like it buy it. But really if you're going to do that, why not just get a Gamefly account and play the game until you're done.

I remember back in the late 90s and early 00s there were tons of sites who had demos and people would actually download them. Nowadays nobody uses demos anymore...
