Alright guys and gals,

I've finally received the Playmad in the mail!!!!!! As I opened the box, my hands were almost shaking with anticiptation...IT'S FRIGGIN SHWEET AS ANYTHING

only downer? I regret not insisting on a Lithium ion or similar battery pack..the batteries I picked up for this thing initially (dollar-store brand, just to get an idea of the power drain) were drained in a matter of fifteen minutes..then I decided to pick up the uber powerful Energizer Lithiums (a 4 pack and a 2 pack together ran me $22...yikes!!!)

I popped those suckers in and played for a half-an hour straight before turning the unit off to conserve these rediculously expensive batteries..

Other than that, everything works great, it FEELS AWESOME in your hands and runs like a dream...the only mad downer is the fact that only the best of the best batteries will do.. :- /

If any of you have questions or comments, feel free..now I'm going to plug this puppy into the wall and get back to gaming XD

no need to buy those expensive SOBs just buy some Ni-MH rechargeable AAs i've got some that you could buy pretty cheap just pm me

Or you can get 8 AAs, 4 AAAs, and a 4 battery charger for $20 at Walmart or Sam's Club.

I would say just modify the battery pack yourself but after looking at the work that went into securing those battery holders down I'm thinking twice about saying that... Hot glue AND screws? Jimminy...

I've determined that the batteries power output must *at least* be in the 2500-2700 MaH range, or else you won't get very good performance..

..the other thing I think is the start sequence (spin-up of the CD, starting of the system) rapes the batteries more than just playing a regular game.

I've seen a portable battery for use with a regular psone system + LCD..the ad claims up to 4.5 hours of continuous play (even if it's not, it's a portable rechargable solution), so I've decided to invest in one ($30 ebay)..I figure what's the worst that could happen? ::shrug::

Yeh, it was the PlayBoy, just a name change with the same thing still. Like Prince.

Whoo... About a 7 or 8. Bondo made things fairly easy, but this was the first time I have ever had the button plastic flush with the case, so that added a lot of work. Getting that screen cut-out perfectly was the hardest thing! Such a large square, and getting it perfect by hand.... Was hard. The case was the fun part though, I enjoyed it. Wiring, not so much.
But thanks for the compliment mate. By the way, very nice SNESp you made, I was very impressed by the clever use of the NES controller battery covers.

Why... thank you! Any chance the dimensions of the case you used would be big enough for an SNESp? If not the mini's board, then the FC Twin? It just has a cool shape to it... Definitely NOAC compatible, but you can fit those into anything.

I seem to remember the mini's board being longer than the psone's... Naturally I have both on my desk at home, but I'm 100 miles away in my dorm room right now

Sure, it would fit great. Might have to cut the corners a tad on the mini, but thats safe to do, I cut a good amount off mine and it still worked. Really, this case is perfect for almost anything, as long as you don't mind filling in the sides with bondo putty.

Excellent. I will definitely look into that... Now to see if I can get me a free sample... But it's such a good looking case that I wouldn't mind paying for it.

Edit: Hooray! Just ordered my free sample... I said my company was my dad's company (Liberty Works, LLC). Hey, they don't need to know that all his company owns is his laundromat, do they? Very nice people - she said they can do modifications for me before they even send it, so perhaps a source of ready-made SNESp cases? Possibly... She's even sending me a catalog of their products and what modifications they can make.

it fits the whole fc twin setup inside no problem.

the case was only like 8 bucks for me. look at my thread in the snes forum for some pics with the twin inside the case.
