Do you mean like a filter cap? And what do you mean by "resetting", does the sony turn off after 30mins? I've had no problems with running about 1.5 hours on it. The TO-220 chip got a bit hot but a heat sink solved that.

I was talking about the 3 AA's, not the Sony DC-DC converter. I do have that sony converter, and it does work, but there is some small distortion in the graphics I hear (lines across the screen). I haven't really noticed it during playing, but I wasn't looking for it.
