First off, who cares if they reuse the same old franchises? As long as the games are fun, that's all that matters. I don't know about anyone else, but I would rather play a game with a character I am familiar with, than try out a game with some new character no one has ever heard of.

Secondly, for those of you who think Nintendo needs more franchises, they have said that they will be creating several new franchises for the Revolution.

Actually, SEGA is at fault for putting themselves out of business. Well, them and Sony. Mostly Sony... but the saturn and some really dumb descisions at the top certainly had something to do with it too.

All I have to say is Nintendos really knows how to pick there employees. They have managed to keep any screens about the Reolution and its contoller secret. Microsoft and Sony would have someone squeese it out of them.

who needs controllers? Just control it with your mind! Then again, with a console to mind connection I suppose it would be possible for the console to control you

That used the muscles in your head, it didn't really read your mind.

Mario. Yoshi. Zelda. Fox McCloud. They're all popular gaming franchises that exist solely on Nintendo hardware (Emulators and pirate games aside). Really it appears to me that there are some people out there who would buy new hardware so they could play the latest Mario game. Back in the day, Crash Bandicoot and associated games were proprietary on the Playstation. Since Naughty Dog sold all rights to Universal, Crash and Spyro have appeared on all 3 major systems and the GBA. Sales, I believe, picked up since then.

But I digress. My point is that if Nintendo licensed games like the Zelda series and Mario games to Sony and Microsoft so the games could be played on all 3 systems, sales of the Nintendo hardware would drop. Maybe not by a signifigfant margin, but by some.
Forgot metroid and those aren't kiddie games unless your little bro is a genius like mine he can beat super metroid in two hours TWO thats amazing and by the way if nintendo dies I would donate to bring them back and so would other people face it a lot of them grew up with an NES like me and if they die I would cry I swear I would.

Personally I wish that Nintendo becomes a bit more mature. Not Mario, a mature Mario game would suck. But franchises like Starfox, Zelda and Metroid should have T content. Hopefully The new Zelda game and Metroid Prime will keep that happening.

Also, I think a darker, RPG franchise should be make for the Rev.
