computer monitor? You would have to find the red, green, and blue points on the DVD player motherboard, if they are even there, as well as sync. Then, you'd have to convert the sync frequency to one the monitor can handle. In other words, you can't

i had a huge computer minitor that could take whatever computers use (vga or something like that?), RGB, and composite. if you have one of those (you probably don't) it has a plug on the back

yes. but its better if you had a dvd drive.. for numbers of reasons but i wont bore you with them. (all reasons are it is better just better)

Or you could buy a DVD player that has a VGA port.

That's what I did. They're kind of hard to find, and more expensive, but I think it's worth it. Especially if you get one that is region free and supports DivX.

A DVD drive is the more practical idea.

Unless you're talking about a PowerMac or Mac Mini (unlikely, but they do use monitors), since they should have built-in DVD slots.

Well, it's not cheap (or space conservative), but there are component to VGA convertors that you could use. Why don't you just get a DVD drive? They're dirt cheap now that people have dual-layer burners.

Also, all G5s and Minis have DVD drives built-in, you have to get them custom-built for them not to.
