6 AA batteries won't give you much for battery life. I'd go with D cells.

Or for that matter, why not a Power Wheels car battery or a couple of lantern batteries? Because if you aren't building a handheld, then I recommend you get a battery that will give you longer life instead of one that takes up less space.

that might be true, but i think Ni-MH could get me enough juice to run this. can someone get me power specs? i need to know how many mA the 12v and 3.3v requires. i went to the shack website and found this
http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?c ... 273%2D1811 it will convert 12v to 3v or other voltages. and to bicostp, i really want this to fit in the power block, so i think that 2 lantern batts. wont fit in it :D

Only 1.2 hours? I got 3 straight hours of goldeneye on 8 Ni-MH's.

BTW, the excess voltage just gets used up as heat by the regulators, so 6AA's should be the same as 8AA's. So that's three hours on 6 AA's, not bad 8)

DO NOT BUY THAT POWER COMVERTER

its a waste of 20 bucks. It does not supply enough amps to power the 3.3 V line

radioshack makes a high power adapter for 10 bucks more that should werk

i bought the 20 dollar one, and am now out 20 bucks!

eric

btw, im 75 percent done my 64p

thanks for the quick response peacefrog, but isnt 4.5v a little different from 3v :? can a N64 take that kind of voltage? and what kind of circut are you using to knock down the 12v to 3v? i really need radio shack parts, because i haven't got the time or the money to put up with digikey's crap.

If you have an NUS-001, the 3.3V line can go upto about 5V.
