Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

n64p in laptop?

Post by marksalot06 »

Is it possible to build one into the case of an old laptop? If so how would i go about rigging up the video to the lcd (would i need any special converters or anything or would it just be straight forward soldering) ? And would it be possible to just tap the n64s power from the battery pack already in the laptop?

this has been posted about a million times

i think you would need a decoder of some sort to get the vid. so a normal portable would be easier

Aside from the whole Laptop LCD deal (which is a death note), does there need to be a thread on every individual system and a man's endeavors (which I doubt he'll even go through with) to put it in a laptop casing?

it can be done but it would be very very hard

i would just use a psone screen
they have a pretty big display
and everything you need is right here and in the screen forum

hmm... back on topic, tear off the laptop screen and put a 5" PSone LCD in its place?

I had an idea with the Mega-Mini Gaming PC (that does exist) to make the Mega-Mini Gaming Laptop, with the case and a PSone Screen (at a 640x480 resolution), and even built in PS2 controller ports, Player 1 is Keyboard, Player 2 USB Controller, perfect for gaming, just a 2-Player Split-Screen Doom Port, mega gaming PC!

That may be a better idea for the N-Forcer Gaming Computer than the portable one...

If you didn't modify the laptop too much, where do you expect to put the n64 motherboard? LAPTOPS ARE STUFFED TO THE GILLS WITH PARTS.

But you could always tap the battery, rip off the screen, gut the laptop, and rig it with the parts for the n64p.

Or you could just run Project64.
