A Good 3d program for designing cases for portables?

Hy guys,

does anyone know of a good 3d program that can be used for designing cases for portables?

I like Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, but those aren't free. Sketchup is a good free program. So is Blender, but that's a bit harder to learn.
