I am looking for a replacement processor for my HP G60-231WM. I purchased a new motherboard thinking that was what was wrong with it but it still did not power up, so the next step is the processor. I found some a couple of months ago for between $26 and $60, but I have not been able to fine them again. Any help would be great. I have spent hours on google and found nothing but one for $250.00 which is way to much.

What type of cpu? Are you absolutely sure it can't be anything else? Ebay is generally your best bet for laptop processors. See if you can find out what others will work, might be easier to find one of them.

Google says it's a Socket S1 notebook AMD socket.

Does your laptop have the same "solder joints come undone due to thermal wear" issues as other models like the old DV6000 series?

I have a Turion 64 X2 TL-50 "Taylor" (TMDTL50HAX4CT) in unknown condition.

It is attached to a suspected bad motherboard (model known to have bad solder joints on chipset).

I dont' know if the turion will work but would be willing to give it a try for the right price.
I know it is not the motherboard because I purchase a brand new working motherboard and got same results powers on for a sec and then nothing. Tested Ram and Harddrive and it work fine.

Is $20 CDN a fair price for this processor of unknown condition?
