You are not going to get a step by step guide.

It's called DIY for a reason (Do It Yourself).

What you will get is some advice and help along the way.

Start a thread showing your progress and ask questions in that thread as you need help.

Good luck. :)

Batteries just aren't going to happen. There isn't a PS3 portable in existence right now. Just PS3 laptops that run off wall power.

A PS3 Slim uses around 100 watts which is around 8A-9A at 12v. Add a high def screen and sound and might as well make it 10A. So even the largest Li-Po batteries on the market will only power it for around 45 minutes to 1 hour. And it would cost you around $175-$200 just for the batteries.

A PS3 Fat uses around 180 watts. So the same batteries will last less than 30 minutes.

So a PS3 "portable" just isn't going to happen anytime soon.

Be grateful that anyone even took the time to make a step by step guide like that. We're here to give you advice, not hold your hand.

All monitors are not the same, so choose one and see what voltages it takes yourself. Like hailrazer said, it's called DIY for a reason.

I'd recommend going for a 360 portable, because broken 360s are a dime a dozen (I'm looking at 4 right now). You could practice on a broken motherboard before you risk any real cash.
