iPhone Application Ideas...
Hey guys, well after about 6 months of reading and experimenting, I have finally decided that I am ready to build my very first, published to the AppStore, Application.
But obviously, the million dollar question, what should it be?
So I ask you guys, what would be an app that you would definitely pay a few bucks for? Not a confusing app like Madden or Call of Duty, something that would be really useful?
Thanks for any input, and if I do chose your idea, I'll throw you %5 of the profit I make!
So let me know!

How about an app that makes the media player have the appearance of an old-fashioned juke box? Dunno how that'd work, but it'd be neat just the same

Tips on making a game, think of a great concept and run with it (how do you think games like Portal or Braid have become mainstream). With Apps it's especially important, concept first graphics, sound and physics second.
BTW are you using the iPhone SDK for Mac?

If you need OpenGL ES help, I've been perfecting my engine for the past few years so I might be of assistance to you.

If you don't mind me asking what have you been reading? I've been studying iphone development also. Did you have any prior programming experience?omgitsthebishop wrote:Hey guys, well after about 6 months of reading and experimenting, I have finally decided that I am ready to build my very first, published to the AppStore, Application.

I can whole-heartedly recommend Jeff LaMarche's books, in particular Beginning iPhone Development. Also, yes I am extremely good with Java so it just helped me already knowing another language. Also I will be using 2d on this app, and I've been experimenting with 3d, and may soon release an app with that.hackmodford wrote:If you don't mind me asking what have you been reading?
