Starting the MobilGen

Post by dragonhead »

yes people! i am still alive!

im back, and im starting a portable genesis using a radica.

for a case ill be taking one of those pinboard things that you can leave an impression of your face into. its got the hundreds on little pins sandwiched between layers of plastic.... yeah you get the idea. since they dont have sidewalls, ill be making some out of plexi.

unfortunately all i have at the moment is a case....i need the radica, cartridge slot, screen, and im going to use AA batteries liek ben did.

if anyone want to provide any help, please dont hesitate.

thanks.

I knew you werent dead I see you logged on your AIM all the time (by the way is something wrong with your connection?)

Your case idea sure is original. Be sure no pins are touching power and ground otherwise *fireworks*.

Get a cheapo Genesis from the thrift store and use its cartridge connector. (I'm pretty sure it will handle Genesis carts. )

ok heres the concept pic.

i put both a 3" and 4" mockup to see how it looked because i knew i could fit a 3" screen, but i wasnt sure if i could fit a 4" one.

Sounds cool. Are you sure that the radica will fit in the case?

And yeah it would hurt to kill a genesis just for it's cart slot. But it would probably be cheaper than buying one off a parts site...

right-o McGyver, you hit the nail on the head.

im too loyal to the system to tear it apart just for the slot...

maby i can find a snes somewhere i can nab a cart slot out of and modify.....hmm..

the radica board is only something like 3" by 4". ben said in the exodus article.
so it should fit...im going to try to make the catridge internal...but if that doeant work, i guess on the back wont hurt
