help with ps360 controller

help with ps360 controller

I am tryin to make a ps360 controller, but I am having problems with desoldering the analog sticks, if any one can help me I would be very thankfull. I am tryin to use a 30 watt pencil iron, and tried desoldering braid and vaccum. Thanks

errrrr maybe you havent let your soldering iron heat up enough and tin ur iron hope i could help

Well I let it heat for a good 30 min. Ya I tined it I can't get the solder around the legs to liquidfy

The solder may have oxidized. Try some flux. See this video for tips.

ive had the same problem maybe your iron isnt clean use a dull knife and scrape of the gunk

ok i cleaned my tip and tried flux, i can now get solder to liquify, i just cant get the solder out the dam hole. i have a a vaccum thing, its the one where u push the top down, then u press the button to suck it up, every time i try to doesnt move. thanks again.

lol i have a vaccum pump just try making sure the solder u want suck up is liquid then i press my pump over it making sure the pump is touching the board then click it make sure u do it quick as possible because solder solidifys quickly

A desoldering iron is absolutely invaluable for things like this, I tried for ages with a normal iron and pump and just couldn't shift it at all, £25 later I can do the entire sequence in one clean go.
