The way you've mounted the controller, hasn't that made the joystick and dpad lop-sided?

Alas, it bringeth me great joy to witness a fellow creating a vertical Nintendo 64 portable such as this! Although Nintendo 64 portables are infrequently made in the vertical position, it maketh them rare and beautiful creatures in the portablizing community!

(Is that better? )

It doesn't matter. Either wire can be ground and either one can be "signal".

Wow that's crazy I just read through this forum, and the n64p that I've been building looks a lot like this. I too am planning on building a super pad (not super pad plus) controller into my case. Mine probably won't be slanted like yours, I think I will be putting mine in so the d pad up and down arrows are pretty much parallel with the side of the case. But yeah, the super pad controller was the one I always used when I was a kid and I liked it way better than the original controller. And I've always been a fan of the vertical N64 layout. Pretty cool to see this project. Can't wait to see it finished.

Don't forget the X64 lite, limpport. Also, all the n64ps done in the n64 case could probably be considered 'vertical' as well.

Battery needs to be charged. If you have a Psone power supply, hook it up instead of the battery for testing. It runs at a regulated 7.5v.

well any 7.5V source will do. You could step down a higher source with some diodes temporarily...

Depends if the controls are fully under or to the sides of the screens, I guess. They can be hybrids!

If the current rating on the power supply is at least 2.5A, you're probably good to go.

You can solder whereever the 7.5v goes. I'm not sure I understand your question.

That's looking really nice!

Question, though: why is the controller portion tilted to one side?
