Get your hacking tools ready...the GENMOBILE is out!

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

looks like it needs a 5" PSOne screen to go on there ;)
Sadly it is not as good as the Radica though, because it's an emulation of Genesis. Still worth hacking IMO though.

I like the bigger screen of the Retrogen :

But I guess some built in games makes up for the smaller screen.

heh, I might be in and out. I've had to retire from game modding for the most part though due to some health problems. Makes it difficult for me to be on the computer a lot. but I do like checking up on all the mad hacking going on around here :)
and my god, a PS3 laptop...is there nothing that can stop Ben?!?

I agree the Retrogen has a nicer screen. but the D-Pad look painful. I would try and find a way to replace it ASAP.

: Sighs: I wish I wasn't poor right now. Getting either one (they both play carts right?) would mean I wouldn't have to hunt down a cheap Nomad, which is next to impossible.

Dont get a Nomad! They drain extremely large amounts of power(I think?) for what system they play. I think that 6 AA batteries on it only lasts a couple of hours.

I never got the battery pack when I had my Nomad (sold it for $50. Power socket was loose, and I think I got my money's worth out of it). However, I did some research on the GENMobile, and found that it plays games rather well, it's compatible with most Genesis games, it does apparently play games off of a flash cart. I'm not sure if it would be compatible with all games, because I haven't found any compatibility lists or anything showing games that I'd think would be questionable, such as Virtua Racing, which runs on the Nomad, but not Genesis 3. I think someone should take the ideas from this, and maybe do a simple flash cart mod which can be flashed via usb, and is made to fit flush with the system. It sounds like something fun to play around with.

Nice find SegaSonicfan, didn't know they were still coming out this this stuff. Kind of cool that they not only made them cute little portables, but were kind enough to include the six controller button style. I wonder what the comparability of these new clones are. I'm hoping they're based more off the Genesis 3 then the standard GOAC, cause sometimes you need some Sonic & Knuckles. If anyone gets ahold of one please post if it can play Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, please. I'm very interested in a 100% compatible Genesis.

Can't you use SDs on the retrogen? I think I'd prefer that.

But in the long run I think I'll just wait for my pandora which is almost done

I had my name on one of those pandoras but that was last school year when they said they would be coming out in two months! XD

I'm kinda glad I got my refund.

Yea I was like number 160 on the first batch. After a year and a half I'm glad I got my refund.

Looks like they "may" have a few done by Christmas with more shipping in February, but I wouldn't hold my breath. LOL

I'm 70ish in the list and I guess I've got a lot of patience :wtf:

I'm going to laugh if the icontrol pad thing comes out for the iPod because I'd probably be as happy with that as a pandora
Expecially since Zodttd is doing an N64 emulator :D

yeah, it plays both from what I've read. There's a huge thread on the sega-16 forums about it and I believe both of these are confirmed to work.
