@zenloc

Awesome portable,Im really impresed you acomplished it just in a week.

I took 5 weeks to make my portable (and mine looks crappy and big compared with yours hehe)

you did a really good job man ^^, waiting for some videos of your system in action :P

@Nintendott

my portable have the exact same problem, pal screen, pal gamecube, no 60 hz games :(

this means I had to use an external screen to beat metroid echoes and other 60 hz games.

I was able to "force 50 hz" some games using the qoob chip tool, btw, only some of them worked, metroid echoes gave me some annoying black lines at the top part of the screen, and the game was really lagged/slow, after two or three rooms, the game crash. so basically was imposible to play.

my next priority while making next GCp , is find a small, not power hungry, and good screen wich accept both 50 hz and 60 hz , I know that will not be an easy task, btw I will try ;)

@nintendott

I see you have a ntsc gamecube and a pal screen. I am looking for a ntsc cube. I can trade you pal cube.

Then you don't have to buy a new screen :wink:

Let me know. We'll share the shipping costs if you agree on trading. All we need to trade is the gamecube mobo nothing else. So the disk drive regulator etc is universal

PM me..

Thats a nice offer but im more than half finished with my portalbe, and i have taken it apart.

Actualy i had a PAL cube in the beginning but it died. It still didnt work with a PAL screen an PAL cube. (still flickering)

My dads going to the US the 30th so he is going to bring me a new screen. NTSC.

PS: ebay has cheap gamecubes.

alright then. No prob. Just so you know that if you have a ntsc cube and a ntsc screen play the ntsc version of metroid. Using a pal game on a ntsc cube with ntsc screen will produce flikkering and black and white screen. Now if the game is 60hz it will still be black and white!!

Just so you know :wink:

Meh Gamecubes are $29.99 at Ebgames and Gamestop with a controller and power/av. Then you can see what you're getting and test it and it has a warranty.

Sadly I can't ship cubes from the US without it costing more than the cube itself and here in Holland the cubes are still quite expensive. All I need is a US mobo the rest of the cube I don't need.

If anybody can hook me up with one please let me know. I'm willing to pay for it or trade. I've got a couple of things for trade:

5inch NTSC Gamecube screen (brand unknown, it's the one you click on the back)
4inch NTSC/PAL Psone screen (bigben)
A couple of PAL gamecubes and parts for it (diskdrives, heatsinks, controller ports, fans etcc...)

The reason I need a NTSC cube is that I have a NTSC PSone screen lying around but can't use it. Once my new GCMini is finished I'll do a NTSC version aswell.

Well anyway hope you guys can help me :roll:

(If i have the money to buy 2 and other stuff that i want he to bring home.)

One more thing, what is the best signal for a NTSC PSone screen???

What is the quality on the 5 inch gamecube sceen?

Sounds like a plan to me :D The quality of the 5inch screen is quite good. Comparable with a sony psone screen. Altough it's a bit more bulky. I can take a pic of it when I get the time. Maby in the weekend...
