So, Vice President Hashimoto of Square Enix was just asked, during an interview about the new Front Mission (He was the producer of the original game, by the way), if they would be making sequels to Chrono Trigger.

His response? He says that the Chrono franchise is as good as dead because it is simply not profitable.. He says this in an interview about a sequel to a game where the original sold only sold 0.6 million, the DS remake sold 0.5 million, and the first sequel on DS sold a mere 0.4 million. This is in contrast to Chrono Trigger, a game that has sold 0.9 million copies as a DS remake, in HALF the time Front Mission had. If you combine the sales of Chrono Trigger DS with the sales of the original SNES and PSX versions, it has sold 3.9 million copies for EXACT STRAIGHT PORTS WITH NO WORK, compared to less than 1.5 million for all the front mission games combined, each as either a new game or a revamped port. How does this make sense? I have no idea, the japanese make no sense.
