Project Ice// DVD drive switch help!

My friend and I have embarked on a journey to create a suitcase xbox 360. However, we are stuck at one part; we have unsoldered the eject and sync buttons from the MOBO itself, and we are having problems with the eject switch, as well at the ring of light. I have two rings of light, one that we messed up trying to put in new LEDS and one that i bought that was pre-modded with blue LEDS. Now here's the problem: with the broken ROL, only a wireless controller works in turning the console on, but the button doesnt work (it lights up as well). In addition, with the premodded ROL, previous to us removing the buttons, it worked with everything from turning the console on to lighting up, syncing, etc, and now it doesnt even light up and i cant use a controller to turn on the 360. I cannot eject the dvd drive; i cant even try to use the dashboard as there is already a disk in there. The game plays fine, but after extending the DVD eject switch, it doesnt eject when i press the switch. it cannot be the switch problem because we did the same thing to the sync button and that works. I believe the DVD eject button and the ROL button have a connection, so if one doesnt work, then the other one shouldnt either, correct? I cant figure out what we did wrong, any help? thanks in advance.

Check all solder joints. You may have a dead tact switch. You can buy new ones at radioshack.

joints are fine 100% ive switched the switches and the sync works both times. its not the switch, is there another issue i am missing?
