O megabite, where art thou?

Is it me, or does anyone else miss megabite the forum bot? I really wish we could play with it during the long weekend.

Eurddrue got his account taken away, so I lent it to him, looks like he is still posting with it. I will fix that. ;)

The REAL megabite is coming along well, but I have stopped work on him till I can get an admin to let me intergrate him into the board. My current solution is too messy.

Here is the story on megabite:

I spent a load of time figuring out how to get him to work on PHPBB2. Then, we upgraded. I got pissed that a lot of my work was useless, so I have it sitting in a virtual bin till I feel motivated to pick it up, and finish the many projects I have all over the place.

Who knows, you might see some progress in the next few weeks, I am on spring break after all.

And Eurddrue is not megabite anymore, that was temporary.

Megabite... Is currently on a top secret mission. I can not say more till it is done, though, but I promise, it is a good one.

Just please, take my word, and let megabite slide into oblivion for the next few weeks, and do NOT post in that thread. I will explain in a week or so.

Hmmm...

I will go check some things out, I might actually be able to pull something off. How many people have registered on bacteria's forums? I do not think it is safe to talk about here, and you guys should register anyways.

Let me know, and I can start a thread over there to discuss this further.

Nah, I don't think we need another thread, and advertising of any sort is against the rules. So shaddup palmer! :P (backseat-moderating woo!)

Oh, and the secret project better be artificial intelligence! :P

Questions answered, thread can be locked. I think it could have been answered in a PM anyways.

I was only megabite for about 5-10 posts just to "spice" things up. I'm pretty sure that Palmer changed the pass, but I haven't tried to get back on since my dad said I could use eurddrue again.

As you asked, closed it, lack of activity over last months; got lots of bots activating accounts (a few a day every day) and posting rubbish sometimes; which was a waste of my time to resolve. Prefer spending my time here, on my site updates and portablizing.

how unfortunate. I was going to log on a few days ago, but could not find a link to the forums. I feared this was the case

How would a bot make any good contributions to this forum anyway? I don't see why we even need one.

Or you can go outside and get some sun and real friends.

But when the bot was functional, it was rather entertaining, and was on its way to becoming noob-helping. Which would make our unpaid jobs easier!

Funny story. While searching for jobs, I found 12 unpaid positions from Bell Canada. Most were unpaid internships, which I KIND OF get, but the last one was titled, "General Manager (Unpaid)". Bell's business strategy is fail.

Or, it would post unrelated topics and not help anybody.
Bots have almost no AI, so I don't really see why you would need one other than for ads (which is annoying as hell).
They don't help. And I don't miss it at all.
