Batteries and Controller Question

Post by Insert_Name_Here »

Could I cut off R/C Battery plug from my battery charger and plug in the wires to the SNES and get power from the battery? Also, I am told that you can get 4021 IC's from digi key. Does anyone have the part number?

EDIT: Also, if you "short out" something (Ex: two wires touch and short out) is it shorted out forever?

I'd also like the part number for the 4021 ICs, I've been searching around for them for some time.

Not really. I mean to snip off the charger plug, then solder the wires to the appropriate spots, and then hook the battery's plug into the used to be charger plug. My question is that will the current flow from the battery plug to the charger plug?

Something like this, would this be possible. Doing the normal power outs, yet keep the recharging part attached, and still functioning?

That picture of the PSOne screen looks strangely familiar. :P

I think that setup would work, though I think it depends on the type of batteries being used.

I know some batteries need a special charging circuit to properly charge. If I recall correctly, Ni-Mh's don't need one, so it should work. (if I'm correct, that is :P )
EDIT: After a little research, it looks like it is possible. However, you would have to make sure not to overcharge it, or it might explode.

in the description it says overcharging is not a problem, so as long as im not trying to do all 3(power SNES, PS1 screen and recharge) at once then it shouldn't be a problem.

Well, if you're using the charger that came with it, there should be no problems at all. You could probably use all 3 at once, too. It would just take a lot longer to charge.
