Hey guys, obviously I'm new to this forum. I found it as a result of trying to learn about creating custom casing for my PSP. I'd like to hear some recommendations about what process and materials to use for what I'm trying to build. I'm very new to this whole process, but I'm a very quick learner and I'm sure that I can do this. Here's what I want to do:
- Create custom casing that is easier on the hands and more functional
- Add two REAL analog sticks
- Replace the stock speakers with better quality speakers
- Replace the Duo memory card reader with a different one (I found a kit online that reads many more memory card types)
So I'm mainly wanting to make new casing that has grips that are more like the xbox 360 grips. It's also important to me to make the analog sticks much more functional. The one that comes stock with the PSP is a joke. I would also like to change the button layout a little bit to make it all more accessible. I've recently started running into games that are using the START and SELECT buttons as actual game buttons. These are extremely hard to reach on the stock PSP. I'd also like to replace the shoulder buttons with real triggers. I know that they probably wouldn't be pressure sensitive like on the 360 (I'm sure that I could make them that way, but games don't use that feature).
I guess that you could say that I want to make the PSP's controls as close to a Xbox control setup while keeping the whole thing small and portable. I do have a PSP-1000 in case that makes any difference.
I'm also interested in any other cool hardware additions that I may not be aware of. I'm looking to get the absolute most out of my PSP (while still being able to play the games). If there are any other cool pieces of hardware that you think that I should upgrade or add, please let me know. Anyway, that's my project and any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!
