I really doubt the game cube can run with 800mah, the gamecube need at least 1300mah (without screen), and I supose you will need to wire a screen to the gamecube.

I also recomend you use NI-mh batteries or li-on ( but you need to know if li-ons batteries are used incorrectly they can explode, yes, you readed correctly, them can explode!) anyway my project use li-on, them are simply the best ^^

here you have a example (battery+charger) Ni-mh packs wich can work with gamecube and a portable screen)

You're going to need to check eBay or something similar if you're looking for a deal like that. Gamecube = energy hog, and batteries with large capacities cost quite a bit. If you're on a budget you'll need to scavenge, but if you know what your system's requirements are it should make your search easier.

all you need is get the screen power consumition

gamecube power consumition + screen consumition = total power consumition.

the gamecube needs about 1,25A , check the screen consumition label (if you have a multimeter you wil get better resuts) and do this operation:

1,25A gamecube + ????A screen = ????A system power consumition

about use 7,2v Batteries, I recomend get 12v or 14,8v due the gamecube audio needs 12v and I doubt the gc regulator board output 12v at audio trace with a 7,2v input
