relocating headphone jack [answer found! (link inside)]
so i desoldered the headphone jack from the board. and i want to connect it back with my wires to place it anywhere. but i want to wire it directly to the PSone screen MBO instead of the little board it was on. any tips?
(if im not specific enough, let me know. ill try to explain better)
Edit:

that would work...but is there a guide or anything? it would be a lot easier if someone had a pic and just saidValium wrote:Follow the leads from the pins on the tiny board back to the cable between the screen and the tiny board, follow that cable, and then solder to the pins the wires are soldered to.
"this pin connects to HP L and this pin to HP switch..." it would make it easier. but thanks Valium. thats what ill do in the meantime.

Valium wrote:The headphone pins are in the Psone screen faq. (looking at the bottom of the headphone jack) the left pin is left audio, right pin is right audio, and the pin closest to the jack is ground. At least, that's what it is for all of my other headphone jacks.
what about HP switch? thats what i need to be able to connect headphones to stop the speakers

Indeed, and it has been very handy for us, greatly appreciated. I used it in my project, as you know.Life of Brian wrote:I made that guide because I couldn't find the information anywhere either and had to piece it together myself. When in doubt read the sticky!
The left, right and ground can be easily identified by using a multimeter, however what of course isn't obvious is wiring the two other connections together (HPS), which of course is the important bit!
I looked for a while on Google, amazingly it is still hard to find the information about this.
