I'm going to spend awhile in Brixton with my aunt but then for Christmas eve and day I'm going to Brighton where my cousin lives. I'm not Cristian at all, I was born a Catholic but became an atheist when I was 12, but I'm not going to deny presents for myself. I'm asking for money but not expecting much.thehackerinside wrote:Wow your going to be like one and a half hours away from where I live, do you have family in Brighton then?dudex77 wrote:Well my avatar is now set for the season. I like Mario with the hat on, and Kyo's looks great too!
Considering the Santa outfit (and Santa's looks, and red and white colours) are thanks to Coca-Cola (before that, Santa looked like a down-and-out, thin, scruffy and dressed in green bloke); shouldn't the red and white hats have the Coca-Cola brand on them?
Incidentally, Christmas is September 11th not December 25th. Thank the Church for that (as per usual) - December 25th was a major Pagan event (a Pagan was a farmer, peasant, country folk - again, thank the Church for the modern meaning!); changing the date of Xmas to the current date meant that people had to choose between the Pagan event and the Christian one, which fell into the laps of the Church with their preaching of "Hell", while they burnt people at the stake on cold nights for disagreeing with them. April 1st was the Pagan start of new year - enter the Church - April Fools' Day. Boy, we have so much to thank the Church for, if only some of it were to the benefit of those who are not working in the Church or the brainwashed sheep they attract to flock. Yes, you guessed it, I am an atheist too!
Personally, I just like the giving and receiving of presents on the day; it has no meaning as I don't believe in fairy tales.
