How do I reconnect one of those little wire thingys

Post by tjlenz »

I know that title doesnt help much but I hope someone can help me. I was just pulling on the wires to undo the little plug and one of the wires came out. Its the kind of plug that is on the cd drive of the PSone, not the ribbon cable one. How do i get it back in and working. Its so small and its hard to get the wire in the little hole.Image
It looks like the one on the far right.

You could always solder the wire to the board on the other side, but that would make you plug non-detachable. Well, unless you de-solder the wire :P

you can also very carefully use a pick to get the metal collar out of the connector, and then solder you wire back onto the collar, make sure it's back in the right shape, and slide it back into the connector.

also, don't pull those plugs out by pulling on the wires, you can do exactly what you just did to it.
