Just scrape away the coating on the trace on either side of the pad and solder the wires to them. Then the wires go to the new switch.
Play around with a multimeter.
Sometime the controller engineers put in solder pads!

See 1st page - about how many hours does each 1000 mAh at 7.2v give you running the PS1 screen and N64?

Ok -
I am not stupid. I am linking 6 1.2v batteries together to power an LED modded screen and N64. I haven't decided how many mAh I want my batteries to have, so...let me rephrase.
How many mAh would give me 1 hour? Thanks!

I now need help with one more thing! (Sorry...)
How do you exactly go about cutting a 1st party controller in half as shown in Harshboy's diagram? I couldn't find anything very specific on the matter. Thanks!

Well...still waiting for the last question, but I just want to add that my portable is TINY!!
External battery gives about 4-5 hours of life.
I hope to finish soon but need help. I leave for Reno on Thursday!

Final questions (Different than before but that's ok!) -
1. How much heat dissipation is needed for the N64 board? Would a heat sinked fan work, or do I need heat sinks and a separate fan?
I might add more, but I think that's it!

This is my area!
Ok, you'll need a small to medium(as in height) heatsink for each chip which are the CPU, GPU, and the ram(s).
Once you have the heatsinks in, Make sure you have some good ventilation holes.
A small 12v fan is reccomended, although you don't need it. The way I have designed the cooling system in my third portable is two small 12v fans on a timer. Every twenty minutes they run for 2 minutes.
Or a switch, either way.
However, fans are spinning motors, so they do take a chuky of battery life. However, the desciption of yours seems to point that this wont be a problem. I used a 3300mah rc nimh battery in my first coupled with a linear regulator and It ran for about two hours.
Does that answer your question?

By small to medium you mean about .25-.5 inch, right? That's all I need.
I probably won't finish before I leave, but I CAN TRY!!!
