oh great, just great, my dad won't let me use the oven to heat the plastic. he is suggesting a hair dryer, which probably won't work, but will a hair dryer provide the heat to make the plastic sag? or would I have to use a heat gun?

Same for me, except it's my mom saying that. I agree with her though - one screw up and that's one smelly oven! Ask around for an electric grill - that's what I did.Master of Portables wrote:oh great, just great, my dad won't let me use the oven to heat the plastic. he is suggesting a hair dryer, which probably won't work, but will a hair dryer provide the heat to make the plastic sag? or would I have to use a heat gun?

well guess what, I tore off the plastic on the expansion pack, and now it is much smaller,
This portable might be a little bit over an inch thick, not including the extruding cart slot that is relocated
I know this is a stupid question but is it safe to run the expansion pack without metal shielding?

the problem with my snesp was that I didn't plan to have to wire the controller myself, and the wires took up a lot of space.
anyway, I have estimated a thickness of 1.25 inches for the main body, and for the little extruding part where the cart will slide down the back is about .5 inches, so for the main body will be 1 1/4" and the whole unit thickness will be 1 3/4" .Thats slim enough for my liking!
and a question about the memory exp pack, is it true that if you relocate the pack form the slot and make the wires long that it will slow down the system

ok, I have some fun things to do this weekend, including making the mold and vac forming my case! right now I am my moms work because I bumped my head on a pole and they won't let me go home, BUT heres a list of things I will attempt do this weekend:
Finish making the mold out of wood
Vac form the case
Get a new desoldering iron tip
desolder the controller ports and modify them to my needs
desolder the expansion slot and rewire the cartridge slot.(hey, It should be easier since the pins are more spaced)
And lastly, I need to get a circuit to work 3 volts and 12 volts to the N64.
should be a lot. but I will attempt to get this all done

I have got to confirm this, when I put the plastic in the oven, do I really set it to 450 Fahrenheit to heat up the plastic. The heat gun I bought screwed up half of my plastic supply, and I need to save one piece for the back, so I have 3 pieces left, and need to be very cautious to conserve plastic, oh yeah, and does anyone have tips for not messing up the plastic when vacuum forming?
