with the exception of a few public domain ROMs, they probably aren't. Just because it is not being made doesn't mean you can download it.

The DMCA is very intruptive and so can not be taken at face value, it is by far the worst thing Bill wrote it.

Anyways, yes I have has my internet slow down scents I moved my computer a whole wopping 20 feet, maybe not even that far. But as I have a longer cable and and am using a new router I can only suspect those two of slowing it donw. Its not too bad just noticable and a little annoying waiting for pages like on the MB to load (like 30 seconds).

ADSL is DSL. DSL comes in two types, "Asymmetrical" and "Symmetrical". You might also see reference to xDSL, which includes both types. Asymmetrical just means that your download and upload speeds are different, for example one of the slowest ADSL speeds is 768/128 which is 768kbps download and 128kbps upload (theoretical maximum - if you get about 90% of those rates, there is probably nothing wrong with your connection). Symmetrical DSL means you can upload just as fast as you download. You could get SDSL at 3Mbps or more, which is about 4 times faster than 768/128 ADSL for downloading and 20 times faster for uploading.

Cable connections come in different speeds too, and their speed is highly variable depending on how many users are active on the "local loop" at the same time. I'm not sure if ISDN has different speeds, but when I got ADSL, it was way more expensive for about the same speed so the choice was obvious.

With ISDN, you can get single or dual channel. Each channel is 64 kb/s up and down, so the max is 128 kb/s. At least for consumer, I do recall hearing about 'commercial-grade' ISDN which might have been faster. I was on ISDN for over six years until they finally put in DSL and two-way cable late last October (just in time for Halo 2).
