Yeah, I've thought about this quite often, and tried to apply Ben's trick he did with the atari portable in his book, but since the atari is way different in its button signals (data latch and all that), it didn't work. I'm sure there is a way to convert analog to digital, which is what the SNES controller requires.
Hey, i just got an idea, how about removing the n64 analog, cut the wires and solder them onto the snes pad tracks? And place the analog in the place of the D-pad?
Yeah, just about to say. Pretty sure some analog sticks simply have 4-8 switches. I know this is what they do for arcade cabinets. Find a 4-switch analog stick (or 8, and jsut connect the correct 4) and solder the leads onto the board.
Braincells dying. What he meant is like an atari joystick if i'm correct. Wire those directions onto the snes controller. (or another controller like the atari one only smaller.)
Well it was to give an idea. Atari has like for directions. Inside are these rubber pad thingies. You can probably get a small joystick with tact switches inside. (that's what I think he meant) I just said atari for an idea.
