Well I found out what the problem is. Probably caused by a single drip of water in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I'll have to get a new MB/DVD combo. It will have to wait until after the ghost documentary shoot, but I will try and finish it ASAP after that. See main page for details.

Knowing what Ben has said to me via email, he probably spilled a drop of beer on the mobo...

Curiosity is killing another cat, and I don't like cats much, so it is okay to be curious here.....

After you complete this, will you offer a kit to make your own Lap360? I think this is an amazing idea you have going on here and I really cannot wait to see the final results.

I see that you also love to tell us your tales on creating these portables, so will you be giving out detailed explanations on how this came to the light???

Oooooh! portable xbox 360!

Well its portable....

Portable Xbox360!

I guess Bens will be the same idea.... just less ummm gay?

The idea is there, but the skills are not.

But saying that, it does what its supposed to do.

My guess is bens will be watercooled, (either that or he has his own custom made heatpipe solution. With a 15inch widescreen tft, hacked dvd drive (slimmed down possibly) keyboard and all white. and actually look like a laptop, Pity the camera couldnt be included like a macbooks iSight, Would be a cool addition :)

I Highly doubt that bens will be battery powered and have controls built in.

Ben wouldn't spend all of this time to power a 360, make it water-cooled, turn it into a laptop, just so it couldn't have controllers and not run on batteries.

You couldn't have the Xbox 360 portable, because the disc grinding problems when you move the console. Most you can really do is a laptop kind of thing.

Yes you could. There have been plenty of portablizing "impossibilites" up to this point; a disc grinding issue is nothing someone can't overcome.
