Better hope we don't have another mini ice-age then. If you check up on it you'll read that there was a year they named "The Year with no Summer". I don't know can anyone image where it's snowing and below freezing all year round, and I don't mean peopel living in the artice areas.
The reason that the "year with no summer" Happened is because a large volcano (mt. krackatoa or something like that) put (around) 140 cubic kilometers of ash and debri (sp?) into the air and the debri stayed there. Which caused the phenomenon known as global cooling where particles in the air go into clouds and make them more reflective causing cooling in areas to below normal. And without the particles in the air we would have increased global warming which would not be good for the world in general.

I live in the mississippi delta of arkansas and it is reaaaaaaalllllllyyyyy hot and even more so humid here. During the summer here we regularly top 100 f and the humidity is around 98-99%. It makes the air around here soo thick its like breathing through a wet sweat-sock.
The problem is not with global warming. We as humans need to remember that we have been on the planet for a fairly short time and we actually EVOLVED DURING AN ICE AGE. We only think the planet is getting hotter when in reality it is just returning to its normal state of tropical-like climate. A few years ago they actually found proof of this in antartic ice cores.

Besides its just a temporary thing any way, as ice caps melt they will release frozen stores of ozone and the world will cool down again. It's called homeostasis

I think global warming is accelerating this though. As there would not normally be so many green house gases in the atmosphere.

Kewl he finished formatting it early and I got to pick it up tonight 8).

It's really a terrible machine, it was the original 233Mhz model with tray disc drive the one that is the blue color that's not blueberry, and only has 96 Megs. of RAM almost half of which OS 9.1 eats for lunch :x. Still happy though since it was dirt cheap (only $99 with a 90 day warranty and keyboard+mouse).

It's mostly a fixer upper kinda thing I'm gonna max out the RAM as soon as I get a new summer job, and then maybe try to find a cheap CPU board upgrade for it.

same here in SC the humidy is high and the temperatures reach about 37*C or 100*F

oh and by the way a make shift AC is a fan with a cooling rack being on the sucking end of the fan Simply put an old car radiator with a water hose in the top and a end running to a drain and place and electric fan (automotive issue) and there you go! Instant mini AC!

I talked to Tim and some others tim said that it should be behind so it pulls the cold air, not push it.

Metroid fan, the mini ice-age was partly do to the volcano's uroption, however it was also caused by a shift in the gulf stream's thermal cycle. When it receed from up by Greenland the weather just got a lot colder. And when you get ice and snow developing you have more heat and sunlight reflected away.

As for what Sam Fisher mentioned, about us Americans driving our cars only a few hundred meters/yards. You think we all do that? I typicly have to drive over 2 miles even intown, then when I get there I also have to transport poeple or objects, that's something I can't do on a bicycle. Further and notably the area I live in (Metro-Detroit) wasnt' designed or layed out for people to commute on bikes. I'll admitt we have a bike path, but it only goes east and west not north or south.

I would also like you to keep in mind that driving over here is not seen as something as expensive as you have it over there. We're paying about $3 a gallon (4 liters). We can still afford to do what we want, and really most people are becoming more aware of the waste they're making in how they drive, so they're cutting back on recreational driving more.

Don't assign us all under one catagory just becuase you don't agree with what one person said an American did.

Hahaha :P, this Texan laughs at your one hundred degree temperatures. Our thermometers hit around 106 yesterday, and hit 109 the day before that. When I get back from riding my bike now, the tires are covered in tar. Granted, it probably gets hotter in New Mexico and Arizona, but still, we stay active when Hell pays a visit.

As for the cutting back on recreational driving, yeah Americans have realllly started to reduce the driving they do. People in larger cars and SUVs are actually going below the speed limit now, and instead of driving all over creation, I only drive to three places now: Girlfriend, church, and grocery store (home-businesses rule!).
