Look I know Nintendo want to get more market by bringing in non-gamers. The problem is that if you alienate your main target audiance, your going to do more harm then good to your bussiness. They should consider that the idea of "the Nintendo Revolution is a revolution to how console games are played", sounds a hell of a lot better then "the Nintendo Wii, a new concept in gaming."

I love the title of the website. Let's hope this is one of the very, very, very few times online petition that does cause the company to react.

Forget Nintendo's crappy "Wii" name They can take that and shove it up their arse. I'm going to continue to call it the Revolution like it rightfully should be called!

wii.....wii....wii......shall....overco.......Ahh screw It! I cant take this any more Nintendo!!! You first raise my interest, you create a completely new gaming experience and then you copulate it up by proceeding to name it after what a young child calls his dick!!! Do you ever learn!!!!! So many things you did wrong and now this? Breaking the partnership with Sony, choosing cartridges for the n64, no online play for the GC, now you have 2 mistakes with the revolu....i mean wii, no HD and a stupid name. It seems like Nintendo has just accepeted their position in the gameing market as "The losers" and being in "last place" and have just proceeded to maintain such a position. Are you content with being last? Are you content with appealing to only 1 gameing market, that being Japan? Are you content with disapointing milllions upon millions of Nintendo fans? You try to attract a massive audience by establishing a gameing enviroment that includes all people and yet you alienate them by greatly overdoing it on the name. The name is the thing everyone remembers. The name describes the system, but in this case it describes it too much. As my friend Peter would say: "Are you joking me hard?!?!?!"

The viral advertising seems to be working. I see a bait-n-switch a week before release.

Normally I seem to disagree with you regarding Nintendo's business practices, but here I agree. Honestly, if they really thought the "touching is good" slogan was catchy, then they're pathetic. Same goes for "Wii".

They also seem to do a terrible job of advertising. Apparently they made a TV commercial for Metroid Prime: Hunters, but I have yet to see it. Actually, I have never seen a Nintendo advertisement on TV in my extensive time of watching it.

Perhaps they'd do better to have different names for the console across the world. As Gamelver said, it seems Nintendo caters more to the Japanese market, and I read somewhere that "Wii" means "good" in Japanese. If they'd keep the name Wii for Japan, that'd be great, but then to have a different name here would please us. Naturally it would be somewhat confusing to have two different names, but if if satisfies customers, then that should really be what matters.
