Anyway, I'm more disgusted with the notoriously horrid marketing of Nintendo. People need to be fired. Really. Their consoles are made with high quality (if not without equally high repidity). But "Touching is Good"? "Wii"?
Normally I seem to disagree with you regarding Nintendo's business practices, but here I agree. Honestly, if they really thought the "touching is good" slogan was catchy, then they're pathetic. Same goes for "Wii".
They also seem to do a terrible job of advertising. Apparently they made a TV commercial for Metroid Prime: Hunters, but I have yet to see it. Actually, I have never seen a Nintendo advertisement on TV in my extensive time of watching it.
Perhaps they'd do better to have different names for the console across the world. As Gamelver said, it seems Nintendo caters more to the Japanese market, and I read somewhere that "Wii" means "good" in Japanese. If they'd keep the name Wii for Japan, that'd be great, but then to have a different name here would please us. Naturally it would be somewhat confusing to have two different names, but if if satisfies customers, then that should really be what matters.
