cd laser not working

so i am trying to ressurect the psone portable i started last year and i have to problems so far,
the speakers dont work on the screen (is there a fuse i could jump for the speakers)
the disc laser doesnt move or read disks, the psone turns on fine but the laser doesnt turn on at all or move one bit
someone please help me i dont want to have to start over on my portable, all i have to do is finish wiring my controller and i would be done.

This happened to me. I was forgetting to push the cd lid close button cuz I haven't installed a switch yet. Make sure you are doing that or nothing will work.

Can't really help you with the speakers. I am no expert, but make sure they are connected. I have no idea about a fuse.

yea i have the switch to my close button thing and its on but still no laser moving

for the speakers make sure you solder the three head phone pins together. and for the lazer you could have a broken ribbon cable.... is it in backwards??? or maby a broken drive plug???

hey im just wondering if anyone knows what to do to get my cd laser working, anyone out there. i need something to send me int he right direction
