just need to know some stuff

Ok this might seem really stupid, but I just want to know a few things about making the Hand-built PSone Portable:

1. What kind of solder works best?

2. If I can't find the kind of computer wire I need, what's the best substitute? Will the wire from the controller cord work?

3. From the book design, the opening latch system is giving me trouble. What's the best way to change that?

you could use velcro for a latch

As far as the solder goes, right now I've got this .015 dia. High-Tech Silver-Bearing Solder. Will that work?

The latch system is just giving me trouble because its hard to glue the little plastic pieces in the right spot (pg. 383 if you are looking at the book). I was thinking about a little door lock latch or something to put on the outside of it. As long as it's shut, I really don't care.

Ya, velcro would work well. You wouldn't really expect it to hold; suprisingly, though, it does. Also, any solder will work; there's just different kinds. A small gague, rosin core is best, which is exactly what you have. Good luck!
