This might end up being the same question, but I bought a clear/red controller for psone. It says PSone on it, but when I opened it up, the buttons were over this thin peice of plastic with the parts to press. There was white plastic under that. Is this the right one for bens book?
I'm at school right now, but I'll post pics when I get home.

Yeah, I'm making my portable with the same contoller (blue originally). I suggest not cutting the flimsy plastic part, even though I bet you could cut the trigger pieces off.
I'm think of doing that for my mod, and then connecting tact switches directly to the ic chip on the board where the flimsy plastic part attaches to. I'll post a pic when I get it done.

You mean the plastic thing with the super thin green wires is pic #2?demonofaj wrote:Yes, that is the right one, also, DON'T CUT THE PAPER THINGY! I was foolish enough...and I lost a controller that day...
PS:I also already desoldered the rumble motors. Might it be semi-possable to put one into the handbuilt psone?

The plastic might melt if you do that. Instead, solder wires to the connector on the analog stick board where the plastic membrane plugs in. It's easier, and you don't have to include the membrane in your portable. The pinouts are in Ben's book, which you definitely want if you're doing any portable work.
