GBA SP into original case?

Post by scherzo »

First, I searched the forums completely and Googled it a bit...

I love my new SP with the brighter screen. It's amazing and breathes new life into my GBA game collection. I love the original GBA case design too. Anyone here have any information on what would be involved in putting the guts of an SP in the original case? Links perhaps?

did u want to put the gbasp into a the original GBA case or a Gb (as in 1988) case.. if its the original GBA, chance are it wont fit unless you redesign the back and make it quite a bit thicker and remake the buttons etc from scratch..

That's pretty sweet, but I really like the landscape configuration of the original GBA. I have two SPs. One of them has the new screen the other is older. Maybe I can do a test conversion with my older one first and if that works out then do it with my bright screen version.

you could just buy the afterburner kit for a GBA and some rechargable batteries...

Nice to see you back Scherzo. And the point of the mod is to have a comfortable and a nicely lit screen, the afterburner throws the latter out the window.

Examples why? I don't own a DS yet, so I'm not sure what happens when you do...
