OK, here are some more pics of my projector's progress. Ironically, I forgot to take a pic of it showing life-sized Donkey Kong Country on my living room wall last night, lol.
This is the small IR glass I mounted in front of the bulb:

THis is the high-velocity DC fan, ducted to blow air underneath the LCD module. I had to cut all those pieces of plexiglass with a dremel, then superglue them together. I hate superglue because it leaves a white residue when it dries.

Unfortunately, this fan is not enough to keep the LCD cool.
Even though the LCD did not show any signs of damage, the top was uncomfortably hot after about ten minutes. This made me nervous so I shut it down.
I guess this is because the plexiglass assembly is absorbing too much IR radiation, which goes everywhere light goes.
Oh well, guess I just have to sit and wait for my IR shield to get here.

If all else fails, take it apart!
If the IR glass dosn't work I would sujest a hot mirror (if your OHP reflects the light of the halogen off a mirror befor it hits the LCD). A hot mirror is basicly a high heat mirror with a heatsink of the back, it takes 90% of the heat and disipates it through the mirror's heatsinks into the air to be carryed away by a fan. This is what people use when they do a folded 7" screen design so they can use a 250W MH bulb in a really small box with less cooling.
Yes you can use a PSOne screen, http://www.geocities.com/randomblahg/pr ... ector.html has a nice guide about it (this is from the first page)

For PSone screens most people stick close to 60" diagonal for projected image size. You can get up to 70" and still have a decent image, but even that is pushing it. Mine is around 67" diagonal and I think it still looks pretty good (blahish quality picture of it on my site, Radon199 linked to it a couple posts ago). Aside from PSone screens, it seems like a lot of people use either 7 or 8" lilliput screens, which supposedly have a good picture up to around 100", or 15" LCD monitors, which can go a good deal larger than that.
Ive seen people with 15" LCDs go up to 200" without any problems, but seriously, who has a wall that big anyway, not to mention the throw for a 200"+ image is somethething like 25 feet and by the time it gets there your image is super dim.
With the new pro lense from Lumenlab people can use up to 19" LCDs, basicly this means we can use WUXGA screens (about 15x sharper than my XGA monitor) and you can prolly get a 400" image out of that, tho it will be so dim you could barly see it not to mention your throw disdance would be like 2 blocks

Except the colors of the GBA would get totally washed out.
