im using a microsoft wireless comfort keyboard 4000, and I spilt a little bit of soda on it; after I cleaned the exterior (most of it landed on the exterior, but very little IN the nook and cranny of the keyboard), I decided to pop off the space bar to see the damage there, but when I put it back in, it feels like its stuck on something, and it goes slower than usual

can anyone help me on this because I got assignments due for my community college and I don't want them to look like your average troll speak/whatever mistakes

UPDATE: title of topic has been edited, and this topic will now house any sem-regular/regular keyboard/computer problems I have in the near future

Pop the space bar off again and check to see that the 'wings' or other tabs are not bent, then try putting it back in again making certain that all the elements align when they clip together.

Alt: spend $15 on a replacement keyboard.

Long keys like the space bar usually have a little metal bar underneath that makes sure it's going up and down straight. If it's not reattached properly, the key might be trying to go through the hole at an angle, which would jam it up a bit.

I've taken a lot f keyboards apart for cleaning, and there are some that become sluggish or rough after the parts are washed. That usually means they're either not clean enough or have been dirty enough for crap to get into the mechanism and abrade the rubbing surfaces.

Take the space bar off again and clean the bar and the slot the key cap pushes into with rubbing alcohol. Make sure the rubber nub underneath isn't sticking by pressing it with a pen or the eraser end of a pencil. Grease up the clips the metal bar attaches to with a little petroleum jelly. (It's easiest to apply it with a toothpick.) Use a cotton swab to lightly oil the square hole and key cap with some mineral (baby) oil. Finally put t

Not a cure all,
*Make sure you have the Microsoft drivers installed for that specific keyboard
*Change/set the default playback device for your output on your PC

Try that, and report back.

after a while, I thought that my drivers might be corrupted, so I reinstalled the drivers for it, and it fixed it

im still keeping this topic up in-case I get anymore problems, or until I deem it necessary for a closure/lockup

got another one; my brother needed to transfer some files from his camera, onto his phone and he decided to install picasa on my computer; it was going through a "scanning" mode and I decided to end the mode, and uninstall it using revo uninstaller pro, might've been a good/bad decision, because now, when I look at my more.......private.....pictures, it takes a lot longer for the folder to load (the view setting is set at large icons), and the little preview of the picture itself isn't showing

im running vista 32-bit home premium, and im wondering if there's a way to fix this problem of mine; the only pictures not affected were my misc ones I got from facebook, that failblog site, and just all around google searching

please help

Tools -> Preferences -> Subtitles & OST

This will only work for generated text subtitles (separate subtitle file, metadata, or a DVD), not for video files with subtitles that are actually part of the image.

well, I tried that, and I only changed that little thing that displayed the title of my playing movie, and the text of the volume control; is there a way that I could use notepad and alter the code in the subtitle file to change text styles?
