ok, i know there isnt a genny emulator for gameboy advance, but if you overclock a gba is it more likely to work?

i want to play sonic but i HATE sth genesis advance

also, with snes emu what is the gameplay like when overclocked? is it better than normal, or is it too fast

If you overclock a GBA, precisely everything is overclocked, even the screen refresh. This means the program doesn't have a clue it's running too fast. So if you'd run an emulator, it doesn't even know it's running too fast. It would run at the higher speed and still lag. (Just that it'd lag faster)
To take advantage of an overclocked GBA you'd need to rewrite the emulator to be aware of the overclock. (Ie only draw every second frame and spend more time emulating the CPU)

it'd help if it was constantly lagging the same amount, though.

Which is my point, it doesn't. It would behave exactly the same way as it did before, just in double speed. As if you recorded it to a video tape and played it at double speed.

I know, but my point is that it always lags to some extent, so if you overclock it that much (and maybe a little more), you could at least make it a little more bearable.

Or he could get a DS

in these tough economic times a ds is out of the question, at least until the price of ds lite drops because of dsi.

atm i have gba + f2a, i might as well try.

A member from Sonicretro.org made a direct port that is Genesis accurate.

I think we should check to see if you can withstand 220 volts

Two notes:

SNESadvance is optimized to be aware of an overclock, it really does help.

There WAS a Genesis emu for GBA made by the maker of the SMS emu that was released as a private beta for members of the exclusive club, the slipzone. Laggy, slow, sprite rendering problems, no sound, and SLOW. It was intended as proof-of-concept, and nothing more.

Bibin seems to have the best option here.
