Does anyone know any good wireless USB transmitter / receiver products? I am trying to take the original Rock Band Drums and make them wireless. Even if I find a good pair will this be possible to accomplish?

Basically i just need something to work with. Can anyone suggest a fairly inexpensive way to buy a usb transmitter / receiver pair, or this might not be realistic, but is it possible to take the wireless components from an existing wireless controller and transfer them to a wired controller.

I am doing a school engineering project where we see inventions through to the finished product stage. Our project is to make a device that can turn any wired controller wireless, but we would like to start with the xbox 360 controllers because they use a general USB port. Does anyone have any ideas ...
