Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to update some info.
I actually know precisely which bytes transmit what data and in what byte positions now! With that problem solved, it's back to the original one. What must a xbox controller have for the xbox to recognize it at all? I'm first going to try ...

Re: That Xbox controller...
You know what? I'm inclined to agree. The three pieces of the controller are infact connected a serial cable. If I get ahold of the Steel Battalion controller, that'd defeat the entire purpose of me building one!

That Xbox controller...
I dunno if this is the best place to ask, but with Microsoft's open support of using the 360 pad on the PC, noone's around to talk about the original xbox pad anymore!

Re: A simple question about flash storage
You know, this isn't what I had in mind (I knew about this already) but thinking about it, I suppose it could work. Thanks.

A simple question about flash storage
With a complex answer I bet.
I had this in mind, wondering what would need to be done to achieve it. First off, there are flash drives out there with 8gb capacitiy, more than enough to fit every single nes/gb/gbc onto it. What would I have to do to make a portable game console that, instead of ...

I know it'd be far easier to take an old laptop and customize it to the point where, upon booting into windows, I'm greeted with a menu asking me which system I'd like to emulate today. This is purely for the nerd-factor :P.

Excuse me for also being blunt, but being blunt doesn't help. Furthermore, please don't presume to know what I'm capable of. I've hacked roms before, and I've also dealt with PIC microcontrollers, so I'm pretty sure I can learn what I have to if someone would just point me in the right direction ...

Built in games question.
Hi guys. I've got a plan to make a multi-console in a laptop form factor that can play genesis, snes, nes, gba, and maybe N64. I want to eliminate some space, however, by putting as many games right onto the chip. In this forums case, I want to put as many games as possible onto the NOAC (or rather ...
