Are you using the RGB video outputs or the composite video output? If you are using RGB you can't because the SNES can't output it.

I've got one more question. If I were to use Li-ion batteries in an SNESp, how would I charge them?

Ah ok. I thought it would be possible because I read somewhere that you could cut the a regular SNES motherboard to the size of a mini SNES board.

EDIT: Also, what are the dimensions of the smaller original SNES mother board?
